Karen Wong was in my Reg, Ms. Soffen. She was always a fabulous fashion statement! She was a community organizer, and was involved in the International Hotel sit in. Her career at the San Francisco Opera was cut short when she was murdered in her apartment in 1991. Her murderer was convicted 17 years later through DNA evidence. I am so relieved that her murderer was finally found. She was a wonderful soul and she is very much missed.
How sad and horrific; having 2 daughters, now granddaughters, plus 3 nieces and a grand niece, I can’t help but fearing for their safety when I learn of stories like this. Thank you Celeste for bringing Karen’s story to everyone’s attention.
